Summer Programs

Summer Programs

Summer Gardening: Children learn to care for themselves and other living things through our Summer Garden education program. Together we discover where our food comes from. We taste fresh vegetables straight from the garden, tend to and harvest the crops, collect seeds, make compost, learn about worms, insects and pollinators and explore our natural environment in hands-on science based learning.

STEM LEGO Monday’s: Children and families are invited to join us for some hands on exploration during our STEM LEGO Monday Events. Each week we have a new LEGO STEM challenge to try and some awesome LEGO learning activities and ideas for kids that includes math, science, literacy, fine motor, art, and STEM.

Summer Meal Site: We are a participating site for the USDA free summer meal program with Hunger Free Vermont. Through this effort, free lunches are provided three days each week for the first six weeks of summer vacation from 11-11:30 at our site for ages 18 and under. For more information on other summer meal sites, please visit  Hunger Free Vermont.

Please try to let us know 24 hours in advance if you will be joining us this summer, as meals are not prepared on-site and we need to ensure that we have enough for all the children present. Please e-mail or call 868-3970 and speak to Liz Toohey, our Summer Meal Supervisor.

Summer Reading Program: This is a six week program packed full of fun and excitement! Each year the theme changes, so no two summers are ever the same. This is open to children of all ages. For a schedule of events, please see our calendar link.

Summer Camps With Exordium Inc: Through hands on activities, exploration, artifacts and just plain fun, Exordium offers children the chance to connect to the great outdoors and share in experiences that students love— and remember!
