Summer Reading Program: This is a six week program packed full of fun and excitement! Each year the theme changes, so no two summers are ever the same. This is open to children of all ages. For a schedule of events, please see our calendar

A Week at the Highgate Library…
Here’s what will be going on at the Library each week during the summer months
Messy Mondays: (10:00AM-11:00AM & 4:00PM-5:00PM) Children and families are invited to join us for some hands on fun during Messy Mondays. Each week we will have a new activity that allows children to get their hands dirty while expanding their mind. beginn
Tunes On Tuesdays: (10:00-11:00AM) Is music and movement your child’s favorite part of story hour? We’ve got the program for you. Sing, dance, make music, while soaking up the sunshine in our backyard. Get your little one active in a fun way!
Story Hour Wednesdays: (10:00AM-11:00AM) Read, craft, and enjoy a healthy snack. Sponsored in part by The Family Center: Parent Child Center of Northwestern Counseling & Support Services.
D&D Thursdays: (4:00PM-6:00PM) Enjoy 2 hours of Dungeons and Dragons each week. Grades 4-8. Beginning July 27th.

Summer Meals

We are a participating site for the USDA free summer meal program with Hunger Free Vermont. Through this effort, free lunches are provided three days each week for the first six weeks of summer vacation (6/24-7/31) from 11:30-12:30 at our site for ages 18 and under. No matter your reading level, Bailey can’t wait to hear your stories. This is a great way to improve reading skills or just enjoy a summer afternoon.
20 minute slots for reading are available from 2:00-6:00pm every Thursday.

Creepy Crawly Garden Club
Monday Tuesday Wednesday 12:30-3:00pm
July 1st – July 31st
Join Virginia Holiman getting your hands in the dirt and learning to plant, care for, and harvest vegetable & herb gardens. Experience preparing and tasting the foods you grow, learn about bugs that are beneficial to plants, and create fun garden-themed projects. Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend.
Students attending the SAIL program, can take the bus to be dropped off at the Library.
