The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) is a nonprofit, member-supported, environmental education, research and avian rehabilitation organization headquartered at the VINS Nature Center in Quechee, Vermont. Open year-round, the 47-acre campus, adjacent to Quechee State Park, features 17 state-of-the-art raptor enclosures, 4 exhibit spaces, 2 classrooms, and ¾ miles of interpretive nature trails. Shelburne Farms is a 1,400 acre working farm with walking trails, children’s farmyard, inn and restaurant on the shores of Lake Champlain. The farm hosts many special events throughout the year. Nothing feels as good as a dip in clear, clean water on a hot summer day. Vermont State Parks have some great options, whether you want to swim in a lake, river or even a swimming pool. There are big lakes like Lake Champlain, Bomoseen and Lake Carmi, or smaller, quieter lakes like Silver Lake or Lake St. Catherine. There is a brand new kid-friendly swimming pool with slide at Button Bay State Park and Salmon Hole on the West River is a great place to cool off at Jamaica State Park. Step aboard replica 1776 gunboat Philadelphia II docked at our scenic Lake Champlain waterfront. Vermont’s History Museum is a multimedia exhibit presenting Vermont’s history from 1600 to the present day. The Birds of Vermont Museum is a delightful place where visitors can learn about birds and their roles in the earth’s ecosystems.

* You may reserve a pass by calling the library at 868-3970. You will be put on the wait list and contacted when it is available. The library cannot reserve the pass for specific dates.
* You will have 1 day from the time and date the library calls you for pass pick-up. After 1 day the pass will be made available to the next person in line.
* Fee for the late return of any Pass: $5.00 per day late
* Fee for a lost pass: $50.00
