Safety Course Offerings:
American Red Cross Babysitting Course: This course gives youth ages 11 to 15 years old the knowledge and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Combining video, activities, hands-on skills training and discussion for a complete learning experience. The Highgate Library holds a class each June for interested youth at a discounted rate. Scholarships are also available to help cover the cost of this course.
Hunting Safety Course: Highgate Library offers a Home Study/ 1 day course for Hunter Safety each summer. Those attending the class must complete the home study workbook before attending the hands-on class.
Boating Safety Course: Who needs this class: All persons born after January 1,1974, must have successfully completed an approved boating safety education course to legally operate any motorized vessel (this includes personal watercraft).
Community CPR/AED Course: Get certified. This classes take just a few hours, but can help save a life when every moment counts. This course is designed for the general public (ages 11 and up) and will teach participants how, and when, to provide care for someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
